We’re proud to continue our partnership with Kode With Klossy, Global Brand Ambassador Karlie Kloss’ own nonprofit organization that teaches young women and gender-expansive youth how to code.
For the 6th summer in a row, high school aged coders-in-training at the organization’s 2-week summer camp, as well as KWK alumni, were invited to participate in the Estée Lauder x Kode With Klossy Challenge. The annual challenge empowers participants to put their new coding skills to use in creative ways and develop hands-on skills such as online storytelling, website creation and more.

The Challenge
The Estée Lauder x Kode With Klossy Challenge continues to celebrate the intersection between beauty and technology. So, for the 6th year of this beloved partnership, it was only fitting that participants of the 2024 challenge dove deep into our pioneering night skin science.
Participants were invited to put their coding skills to the test by creating an educational and engaging mobile-responsive website showcasing 3 of our top nighttime skincare products.
Four hardworking scholars were chosen as finalists—and one was officially declared the winner.
The Winner
Rhea won our judges over with her thoughtful storytelling and forward-thinking designs that brought our innovative nighttime skincare formulas to life in a unique way.
HER WEBSITE:
“My website is mobile and user-friendly, includes a carousel of image collectives with descriptions, animations, hover effects, buttons for users to shop the three essential products, an information page that describes the three products and a machine learning model, which is an AI image classifier. The purpose of the image classifier is to allow users to identify which of the three items would best fit their skintype.”
HER FAVORITE PART OF THE CHALLENGE:
"My favorite part about working on this challenge was learning about the importance of night skin science. Exploring the in-depth complexities of the various nighttime skincare items and gaining insights in the groundbreaking technology was truly intriguing. My other favorite part of this challenge was strengthening my technical skills by using the computer programming languages, HTML and CSS.”
